Tatte Bakery & Cafe

Tatte Bakery & Café expanded into New Jersey with a flagship location at M Station West in Morristown. The buildout features an open kitchen showcasing craft baking, separate public and employee restrooms under distinct permits and an outdoor patio for street-level engagement.

Weekly meetings with SJP Properties, Tatte’s corporate team, Gensler and engineering partners aligned design and compliance. Permitting included separate restroom and patio approvals, plus zoning reviews for signage supported by additional renderings. Vendor partnerships supported timely delivery of furniture and branding elements culminating with a September 3, 2025 ribbon cutting.

Challenges included securing signage approvals to meet local aesthetic standards and integrating electrical and plumbing systems without disrupting other tenants, resolved through proactive communication and detailed planning. The Morristown Tatte buildout sets a benchmark for retail integration within mixed-use developments, combining design excellence, operational efficiency and community engagement.
