Morristown Announces SJP Properties as Conditional Redeveloper of North Park Properties
Proposed mixed-use redevelopment would transform long-vacant downtown properties with approximately 120,000 square feet of commercial space, 200 housing units and retail
MORRISTOWN, N.J. – August 19, 2026 – Morristown Mayor Timothy P. Dougherty and the Morristown Town Council today announced the conditional designation of SJP Properties as the redeveloper of 1 North Park Place, 17-21 North Park Place, 11-23 Washington Street and 2-10 Washington Street in downtown Morristown.
The proposed redevelopment would transform a prominent collection of long-vacant properties, including the former Century 21 building, into a new mixed-use development featuring approximately 120,000 square feet of commercial space, 200 new residential units and retail.
The Town has designated the properties as an area in need of redevelopment as part of its broader effort to reinvest in downtown Morristown, bring underutilized properties back into productive use and strengthen the area surrounding the historic Morristown Green.
“This is an important step forward for a part of downtown that has been waiting for new life,” said Morristown Mayor Timothy P. Dougherty. “These properties occupy a highly visible location in the heart of Morristown, and their redevelopment will have a tremendous impact on our downtown. This proposal gives us an opportunity to bring new housing, commercial activity and retail to the area while creating a more vibrant and connected downtown for residents, businesses and visitors.”
Under SJP Properties’ proposal, the existing structures would be replaced with a new mixed-use development designed to reinvigorate one of Morristown’s most prominent downtown corridors. Additional details, including architectural plans, site design and potential commercial tenants, will be announced as the project moves through the planning and approval process.

SJP Properties previously developed M Station East and M Station West in Morristown. Together, the two developments have brought approximately 3,400 employees and multiple retail businesses to the Town.
The North Park redevelopment represents another opportunity to strengthen Morristown’s downtown, create new housing and business opportunities, and build on the Town’s vision for a vibrant, walkable and active community centered around the historic Morristown Green.
