John Needham

John Needham joined SJP Properties in May of 2003 as a building engineer at Waterfront Corporate Center I and was promoted to Lead Engineer of the building April 2004. In December 2006, John was further promoted to Chief Engineer of WCC I and WCC II. Throughout his time at the Waterfront Corporate Center, John has gained extensive experience in operations of Class A office space handling all major building systems including heating, refrigeration, air handling, plumbing and electrical equipment. In addition to involvement in the day-to-day building operations, John has worked closely with the property management and tenant facilities teams on fire and life safety procedures such as elevator recall testing, fire pump testing, dry pipe, pre-action systems and adherence to Port Authority NY/NJ life safety protocols. John also works in conjunction with the SJP construction department to oversee day-to-day operations of all tenant interior office, retail construction and buildouts since the start of his career at SJP. Additionally, John was also heavily involved in the ground up development the newest building of WCC III. John has performed due diligence property inspections on multiple potential properties that SJP and investors have had interest in buying throughout the New York Metropolitan area since late 2013, working closely with other SJP management and construction employees who were involved.

Prior to joining SJP, John worked as Building Engineer in a refrigerated warehouse where he performed maintenance of refrigeration equipment consisting of natural gas driven engines running reciprocating compressors for cooling of over a million square feet of refrigerated space, maintenance and repair of freight elevators, forklifts, reach trucks and pallet jacks, as well as tracking daily readings of “Engine Room” equipment. John first began his career in engineering as temporary boiler room technician at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, New Jersey in 1998.
